Those Lashes!

When researching 1930s, I couldn't help but notice that icons such as June Knight and Jean Harlow had incredibly long, luscious eyelashes. I researched further and found that the application of false strip eyelashes became very popular in the 1930s. False eyelashes were made of natural or artificial hair attached to a thin pliable sheet of material. Sets of lashes would include adhesive glue, as sold today. Though women could apply them at home, they often chose to go to a beauty salon to get the treatment done.
