Cabaret vs Party Monster

Sally Bowles vs Michael Alig
What do Sally Bowles and Michael Alig have in common? They are both fame hungry!
I see many shared characteristics between Sally and Michael. They've both go flamboyant, theatrical personalities, they're quite ditzy and very determined. Both Sally and Michael think a lot of themselves.
Sally has more of  a talent oriented goal, to be a Hollywood actress. Michael just wants to create his own world, 'a world full of colour where everyone can play. One big party that never ends'.
In Party Monster, Michael ultimately achieve's his wishes and becomes a club scene icon. He unfortunately looses all this when his downward spiral with drugs leads him to commit murder. In Cabaret, Sally doesn't achieve her dream and settles for more realistic goals, moving away from Berlin and back to her family.
