Post 3 - Where is Sally?
Sally is at The Kit Kat
Klub which, on this evening of celebration, I expect to be full of people.
There are several tables, each of which has a telephone on it so people can call
each other. There are decorative items such as confetti, paper hats and balloons. A spiral staircase leads to a large stage with a band set up and spotlights. Sally has completed her performance, she is mingling with guests, enjoying the festivities.
Post 4 - When is it?
This scene is set December
31st 1929. Its late evening, nearing midnight during the winter. Beneath the heavy coats and outside wear, the men and women are dressed in glamorous formal attire for this celebratory event.
Post 5 - Where has Sally just come from?
Before this scene, I
imagine Sally has been in her backstage dressing room, getting ready, probably
having a pre-performance cigarette and drink, doing vocal exercises and touching up her makeup. I envision a crowded, bustling atmosphere, with lots of people getting ready together.
